Obituary

Margaret Genevieve Breen Thompson finished strong and went to be with the Lord and her beloved husband Wendell Ray "Jinx" Thompson on September 14, 2023. She was born on March 19, 1926, in Fort Smith, Arkansas to James J. "J.J." Breen and Murta Haynes Breen. However, her family always celebrated her birthday on March 18. She attended St. Ann's Academy in Ft. Smith for twelve years. After graduation she worked at Kress and Hunts Department Stores. Jinx and she married on October 26, 1946 and were together for 59 years until Jinx's death March 31, 2005. She started a personnel agency with her sister, Shirley, called Star Personnel. In her 50s she went to work for Red Eagle Oil Company in Oklahoma City as a file clerk for Mr. Harry Johnson, Founder and CEO. She worked there for 11 years. She was a loving mother, wife, sister, and friend. Margaret was a devout Catholic with a long history of serving Jesus Christ and the church. She was a member of St. James the Greater Catholic Church for over 65 years. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. Her favorite pastimes were vegetable gardening, tending to plants, birdwatching, bingo, and going for ice cream. She was loved by so many for her quick wit, sense of humor, friendly attitude, and sweet sense of hospitality. It was these attributes that prompted OG&E to make her the face of their Silver Energy Program in 2019 at the age of 93. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her siblings Ralph Canino, Carmen Canino, Fran Breen Culp, James "Jimmy" Breen, and Murt Breen. She is survived by her sister Shirley Breen Sack, her children Barbara Thompson Jackson (sp. Larry Jackson), Glenn Thompson (sp. Vicki Thompson), Rebecca Thompson, and Nancy Thompson Antonelli (sp. Brian Antonelli), her grandchildren Christopher Jackson, Terry Jackson, Lauren Jackson McEntire (sp. Brett McEntire), Zachary Kyle (sp. Brenna Kyle), Jeffrey Thompson (sp. Alicia Thompson), Nathan Kyle (sp. Misty Kyle), Ryan Kyle, Daniel Thompson, great grandchildren Talynn Kirby, Whitney McEntire, Olivia Thompson, Beau McEntire, Rosemary Thompson, Emmeline Kyle, Blake McEntire, Ethan Thompson, Joslyn Kyle, Calder Thompson, Ridley Kyle, Cadence Kyle, and Cooper Kyle (arriving soon). The family would like to express its sincere thanks to Sister Maria Faulker and the Gospel of Life Disciples + Dwellings' (GOLD) St. John Paul II home in Moore. Please consider a donation in lieu of flowers to support this amazing ministry which focuses on care and support for the elderly. We would also like to thank the team at St. Ann Assisted Living Center, a ministry of the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City for their recent loving care of Margaret.

Let your light shine before others that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16
