Marie Boren, 89, was welcomed into the arms of her Heavenly Father on June 27, 2024. Marie was born on December 22, 1934 in Oklahoma City to Douglas & Flora Mae (Thurman) Martin. She was a lifelong resident of Oklahoma City and began working at the age of 14 as a Car Hop at Hollies. Marie was a dedicated Safeway/Homeland Grocer Employee for over 34 years working in the Meat Department. Marie married the love of her life Benjamin Harrison Boren on June 6, 1970 and they were blessed with 30 wonderful years together until Ben's death on October 26, 2000. Marie enjoyed gardening, ballroom dancing, an occasional visit to her favorite casinos, and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Douglas & Flora Mae (Thurman) Martin, husband, Benjamin Boren, son, Sgt. Phil Davis, daughter Regenia Wells & husband Jerry, granddaughter, Torie (Davis) Rhodes, son-in-law, Philip Burgess, sister Loretta Caldwell, brother Earl Martin Jr., and her dear Aunt Minnie & Uncle Claude Shelton.
Marie, a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend, is survived by Daughters Diana Stow & husband Jerry, Crystal Burgess, Son, Benjamin Boren & wife Danna, brother Ralph Martin & wife Alice, Cousin who was like a sister and a cherished best friend, Sue Phillips & husband Johnny, Sister-in-law and dear friend Ramona Menefee, Grandchildren, Brian Davis, Thomas Stow & wife Urooj, Justin Boren & wife Savanna, Amanda Blackwood & husband Micah, Travis Boren & wife Caitlin, Emily Ho & husband Ricky. Marie was also blessed with nine great grandchildren that she adored.
Marie never stopped worrying about her family and always put the needs of those she loved above her own. She loved unconditionally and her giving spirit will continue to live on through her family and friends.
Services will be Monday, July 1, 2024 at 10:00 am at South Lakes Chapel of Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary (4000 SW 119th St, Oklahoma City, OK) with Interment following at Resthaven Memory Gardens (500 SW 104th St., Oklahoma City, OK). The family is requesting casual, bright colored attire. No suits or ties.
