IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marillyn Jane
Stewart
April 9, 1933 – March 5, 2025
Marillyn Jane (Atherton) Stewart, born at 4301 S Agnew at home on April 9th, 1933 danced her way into the arms of Jesus on March 5, 2025. Two "L" Marillyn wore many hats as a baby Sister, Wife, Mother, and Mimi.
Marillyn was the baby of nine children born to Charles Edward and Alice Lucille Atherton and grew up and spent most of her life in South Oklahoma City where she graduated in 1950 from Capitol Hill High School, and played and lettered in volleyball. She completed Comptometer school in OKC, and Floral Design in Denver Colorado. She opened her own floral shop with her sister Jackie Ketch in 1973. Marillyn attended South Lee United Methodist church from the time she was born. She participated in a senior tap dance troop for several years and performed at the State Fair and functions throughout Oklahoma City.
Her life was full of many businesses and traveled the world in many adventures alongside the love of her life, E.G. Stewart Jr., for 42 years. He preceded her in death in 1995.
Marillyn was also preceded in death by her oldest daughter, Marillyn Jane (Stewart) Greene in 2017, and her second husband James Allen in 2019.
She is survived by her daughter, Melody Stewart (Mark Blair) and her 5 grandchildren, Stewart Greene, Lewis Greene, Katie Jackson, Amy Weaver, Adam Weaver (Jenny), eight great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter, and her special friend Fred Sugita. She had numerous Nieces and Nephews that she loved dearly and always enjoyed their visits in her home. She loved her family immensely and was proud of all of them. She professed her love for Jesus from the time she was a young girl.
We would love to say a special thank you for Village on the Park and all of her caregivers with Good Shepherd Hospice and also her private caregivers that showed such compassion in her care.
