Marilyn Marie Martin Koonce was born May 4th, 1954 in Oklahoma City to Ray and Vernice Martin. On April 8th, 2022 she went home to be with our Lord and Savior. She was one-month shy of her 68th birthday. She was faithful to God, her family, and her friends. Marilyn graduated from Southeast High School in 1972 and completed some college at Hillsdale in Moore Oklahoma. She taught preschool at a private Christian school until 1986. After teaching, she spent several years caring for her nephews and niece. Marilyn loved teaching and caring for children. With all the challenges she faced with Multiple Sclerosis, she did life without complaint.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband Stephen Leon Koonce, parents Ray and Vernice Martin, father and mother-in-law, John and Alpha Koonce, brother-in-law Stan Koonce and sister-in-law Theresa Hayes.

Marilyn is survived by her sisters, Shirley Bowden and spouse Edwin, Barbara Literski and spouse Ron, Elaine Waggoner and spouse David, brother-in-law Gary Hayes, and sister-in-law Carol Koonce. Her son Brandon and spouse Crystal, her son Brent and spouse Sarah, seven grandchildren, Tayler, Landon, Brock, Jacob, Natalee, Amelia, Tanner, one great-grandchild, Lillianna, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The visitation is on April 13th, from 4:00-8:00 pm at 4000 SW 119th St, OKC, OK 73173 Vondel Smith Mortuary at South Lakes. The funeral is on April 14th at 1:00 at Vondel Smith Mortuary South Lakes Chapel, 4000 S.W. 119th. She will be buried at Fairview Cemetery in Tuttle next to her husband.
