Marissa LeAnn Stroud was born December 6, 1984 in Bedford, Texas the daughter of Billy Ray and Mavis Ann (Crawford) Stroud. She completed this life on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at the age of 36.
Marissa was a beautiful child who loved animals from the start. She had doodle bug farms, sand lyons and an ant farm. She loved her horses and had many. She also was a writer, winning the Texas Star (a state award) in the 3rd grade. She continued her writing as she grew up writing fan fiction and authoring several online books.
When she was in the 5th grade she moved with her family to Cashion, OK where she was raised in a small community in the country with her horses. It is here she would meet her BBF Audrey Breen. Marissa graduated valediction from the 8th grade. Throughout high school she continued to excel while on the debate team and winning Academic scholarships. She went on to graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy from the University Of Central Oklahoma (U.C.O.)
Marissa aspired to be a professor, after graduating from college she was offered several scholarships for graduate school including an assistant teaching position and scholarship to O.U. but chose to work for the State of Oklahoma at the Regents for Higher Learning, later transferring to D.H.S. Child Support division. She left her work at the state in 2016. At the time of her death, she was working for Farmers Insurance as a representative for the Guaranteed Repair Program in Oklahoma City. Wherever she worked she strived to be the best.
Marissa had many nicknames: Sissy, Sissy Bear, PBE (Pretty Blue Eyes), Princess and Mari.
She was preceded in death by her father, Billy Ray Stroud; her brother, Jonathan Fulton Stroud; her Grandparents, Bo and Helen Stroud; her Grandfather, Donald Crawford; her Aunts, Uncles and a cousin, Chad Crawford.
Marissa is survived by her Mother, Mavis Ann Crawford Stroud and Thomas (Smokey) Longran; her grandmother, Virginia Lee Crawford; her niece, Zoe Nevaeh Fulton Stroud; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
