IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mark Siefke
Defreese
July 30, 1968 – April 30, 2025
Mark Siefke deFreese, 56, of Edmond, OK, passed to glory on April 30, 2025, in Edmond, OK. He was born on July 30, 1968 in Edmond, OK to John Siefke and Edith deFreese. Mark was very proud to be in a long lineage of several generations of Siefke deFreeses. Mark was born and bred a University of Oklahoma Sooner. Some say he came into the world screaming "Boomer!" and his first word was "Sooner!"
Mark married his true partner and love of his life, Nicole Margaret Arango, on May 10, 2003. They were blessed with three beautiful children – Turner, Harper and Elle. As much as Mark loved his Sooners, nothing compared to the love and pride he had for his family.
Mark Siefke deFreese is survived by his wife Nicole Margaret; his children Turner Siefke, Norman, Harper Sophia and Elle Margaret, Edmond; his parents John Siefke and Edith deFreese, Broken Arrow; his mother-in-law Nancy Lowe, Oklahoma City; his sisters Teri Freeland, Oklahoma City, Dana deFreese, Broken Arrow, and Jacquelyn (Lance) Nelson, Stillwater; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Tony and Misti Arango, Edmond; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Reverend Louis and Gertrude deFreese, and Max and Virginia Turner and his father-in-law Robert Lowe.
He graduated from Tahlequah High School in 1986, and from the University of Oklahoma in 1991, where he was a proud member of the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity. He spent most of his professional career in the pharmaceutical industry. Mark could be found cheering at most any University of Oklahoma sports activities. However, by far his favorite place to be was cheering his children on in their sporting and cheering events.
A public viewing and visitation will be held at Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary, 13125 N. MacArthur Blvd, Oklahoma City, OK 73142, on Wednesday May 7, from 5 to 7 pm. The service for Mark will be held at First Lutheran Church, 1300 N Robinson Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73103, on Thursday May 8 at 2:00 pm. OU spirit wear is welcome to honor Mark. A reception will follow at 11825 Lorenta Circle, Edmond, OK 73013, where we can share our favorite memories, laugh, and celebrate Mark.
