IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marsha Kay
Black
November 13, 1951 – May 28, 2024
Marsha Black, 72, of Moore, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, May 28th, 2024 at OU Medical Center with her family near her side. She had been battling ovarian cancer for the past 3 years, but is now perfectly healed and home with her Lord and Savior.
Marsha was born November 13, 1951 to Hoyt and Betty Estes in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Marsha was raised in South OKC along with her sister Valerie. Marsha and her family were longtime members at Capitol Hill Assembly of God. Marsha graduated from Grant High School in 1970. After high school Marsha continued her education at OSU.
Marsha and Byron were married on July 30, 1971, the two exchanged vows at Capitol Hill Assembly of God. They were later blessed with three children, Brent, Brad and Annie. Marsha's true calling and favorite profession was being a mother, wife and grandmother (Mimi). However, after the kids were grown, she did work off and on throughout the years. She retired from Edward Jones Financial in Mustang where she worked for 13 years as the Branch Office Administrator. She made a lot of great memories there and made many lasting friendships with her clients.
Marsha had many talents and hobbies. She didn't just cook and bake, she created, she never used a recipe or a mix, everything was from scratch and rarely could anyone replicate her creations! If she knew you, she most likely baked or cooked for you! Marsha was also an amazing seamstress, creating & sewing her own wardrobe all throughout high school, matching outfits for her young children and formals for her daughter all through college. Give her an idea, and she would create it! Dancing, bargain shopping, decorating, spending time with and hosting family gatherings were among many of her favorite things.
But maybe her biggest talent was the way she prayed and loved God! She was bold in her faith, and shared her love of Christ just by living her life. She had a contagious joy that can only come from the Lord and if she knew you, she prayed for you! She had scriptures for any occasion and taught her kids that the Word is always your first "go-to". Throughout her battle with cancer, she clung to Mathew 17:20…that even the faith of a mustard seed can move mountains! She wore a mustard seed necklace everyday and carried promise cards with a mustard seed attached to hand out to anyone she met!
We already miss her terribly, but take joy in knowing there is no more pain, no more fears and no more sufferings. She is dancing before her Jesus surrounded by His glory! We will see you again, until then we carry on your legacy and share your love of Christ!
