IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marsha Larue
Stephenson
October 22, 1951 – December 16, 2024
Marsha LaRue Anderson entered heaven's gate on Monday 12-16-2024 at the age of 73. The daughter of Ramon and LaRue Anderson, Marsha grew up in Bethany OK. and graduated from Putnam City High school in 1969. She then attended college at Central State University while working part time at a local dry cleaner. That is where she met her husband, Bob. After a short romance, they married April 2, 1971. They opened a fabric store on the south side of OKC. After a period, Marsha decided to go into the workforce where she worked with Organon Teknika, Hobby Lobby and her home church before retiring. Marsha and Bob were members of Southern Hills United Methodist Church for more than 45 years. They were very active members where Marsha was involved in many of the ministries of the church including mobile meals and the Carolyn Williams Center. She was also involved in a vast array of organizations: Esther Women, UWF, Hill Crest book Club, Model A club, Corvette Club, Red Hat Society, and was a board member for the Oklahoma City University pageant.
Marsha loved to host and would open her home freely to many. Her and Bob hosted a few foreign exchange students from Japan. Marsha being Marsha made lasting connections with the students and they visited her on several separate occasions after their stay.
She also hosted several of young pageant girls as they prepared to go to the Miss Okla. pageant.
Marsha was also a great planner. She loved to plan trips with her family and friends. From yearly charter bus trips to Branson with her sister Jan and their mother, plus 55 other women, to charter bus trips to Texas just to shop.
Through her travels Marsha got to experience many unique things, wide and far. From many a cruise ships with special outings and sightings, to eating dinner at the Eiffel Tower while traveling to Paris, Italy and Belgium with sister Maribeth and niece MaCaulie, to the east coast and Canada to see the fall foliage with her friends and sister. She even was brave enough to take her young niece MaCaulie and nephew Montana to Disneyworld when they were little. Boats, trains, planes and automobiles, it didn't matter. She loved to travel.
Marsha also was a huge OU Football fan, where she loved watching her team from the south end zone where she was a season ticket holder.
Marsha loved many things, shopping (like a lot!), scrap booking, going to concerts, plays, movies, dinner with the Friday Night Widow Wagon crew, and always looked forward to her weekly snow cone outing with her pageant friends.
But what Marsha loved most was her family and spending time with them. Birthdays, holidays, Sunday night dinners and taco Tuesday's. She was always there. Giving gifts with money hidden somewhere on the inside. She loved her nephews and niece like they were her own and was always there to help them all in a heartbeat. She loved and enjoyed the time she got to spend with her little nieces and was proud of them all.
Marsha left a tremendous legacy on every facet of life. The impression she left on each person she met was filled with love, joy, kindness and hospitality. She will be forever missed.
