Marvis (Marty) Ann Ring, 69, of Edmond, Oklahoma, died surrounded by family on Thursday, June 24, 2010, after a courageous battle with leukemia. Marty was born to the late James and Velma Fullerton on August 7, 1940 in Hay Springs, Nebraska. Marty was a Licensed Practical Nurse, passionate about taking care of people through her career until she retired in 1998. Marty moved to Oklahoma City in 1993, and was an active member of Crossings Community Church (CCC), where she met and married Floyd (Jim) James Ring, Jr. in 2001. Marty loved to volunteer her time and talents making dolls and blankets for children and doing what she could for other ministries. Closest to her heart was the Crossings Community Clinic, a longtime dream that she was thrilled to see come to fruition. Marty and Jim were active in their Keenagers group at CCC. They loved to travel and enjoyed many adventures with their church group and other travel groups. Marty is survived by her children Roger A.Park of Baytown, Texas, Wayne S. Park of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Bryan D. Park of Mercer, Pennsylvania; and her step-children Melissa Boese and Robert Ring. Marty is also survived by 11 grandsons Kelton, Spenser, Ryan, Brett, Matthew, Jarod, Mason, Noah, Blake, Sam and Garrett; and one great-grandson Kason. Marty's family would like to thank Dr. Michael Keefer and his staff, and the cancer ward at Mercy Health Center for the compassion and skill they consistently demonstrated.
