Mary Kathleen
Amos
March 23, 1949 – May 3, 2026
Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary - North
2:00 - 3:00 pm (Central time)
Mary Kathleen Amos was born on March 23rd, 1949 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Robert and Lois Easterly. With her family by her side, she passed peacefully from this life to be with her Lord and Savior on May 5th, 2026. The oldest of four siblings, Kathy, a gifted student, tennis and piano player, graduated from Paul’s Valley High School in 1967. Shortly thereafter she married the love of her life, Tony Amos, in which they welcomed three blessings together in boys; Clint, Mitch and Will. Kathy was everything a mother rooted in Christ could possibly be; a strong pillar of love, understanding and forgiveness that only her passion for the Lord could provide. Her gentle temperament, sophisticated demeanor and compassionate nature lifted all those around her; heavenly traits that not only served well for three mischievous boys, but surprisingly well in her career as a leading major accounts collector at Morgan & Associates in Oklahoma City for 30 years. Her unwavering support for her family was evident in every aspect of her being, as Kathy and Tony were permanent fixtures at every game, party and life event that her boys and their children could throw at them. Her soft-spoken and kindred spirit touched everyone she encountered with the respect it commanded. She was a very hard-working, supportive and faithful spouse to Tony until his passing in 2014. While it is with profound sadness we grieve the loss of her earthly presence, please rejoice with us in her reunification with her husband and Heavenly Father.
Kathy was preceded in death by her husband of almost 47 years, Tony Amos. Her parents, Robert and Lois Easterly, and sister Debbie Hunt. Brothers-in-law Rayburn and Eddie Amos; Sisters-in-law Nona Thomas, Nola Pelfrey, Eva Broadway, Kathy Farrow and Joan Davis.
Kathy is survived by her three sons: Clint Amos; Mitch Amos; Will Amos and spouse Lindsey. Four grandchildren: Brittany Maguffee and spouse Nathan; Hunter Amos and spouse Johnnie; Landon Amos; Cale Amos. Four great-grandchildren: Ayden, Gavin, and Jaxyn Maguffee; and her “Little Bit” Sage Amos. Sister Roberta Beaver and spouse Bob. Brother Robert Easterly III and spouse Jeanie. Brother-in-law Carl Amos and spouse Barbara. Sisters-in-law: Francis Ward and spouse D.C; Joyce Tewksbury and spouse Jay; Donna Tucker and spouse Mike. Many, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends…….simply too many to count.
Our family would also like to extend a special thanks to Enhabit Hospice for their help and loving care to Kathy in her last months, and please know the service you provide is a divine gift and will surely earn grace in our Lord’s eyes.
