Mary Jane
Hahl
September 9, 1944 – April 14, 2025
Mary Jane White Hahl was born to Ora Lucile Smith White and Edward Joseph White in South Bend, Indiana on September 9, 1944. She was the youngest and only girl of six siblings.
She graduated from St. Mary's Academy, South Bend, Indiana and also attended St Mary's College, Notre Dame, Indiana and later graduated with her bachelor's degree from East Texas State University, Commerce, Texas.
On November 28, 1964, she married James Philip Hahl, and they had three children. After living in several Midwestern states, they finally settled in Oklahoma in 1980. She worked for Shelter Insurance in the claims office for 28 years before retiring. She loved to cross stitch, play bridge, bowl, square dance and volunteer at church and Mercy Hospital.
She was predeceased by her parents, brothers: Richard Edward White, James Arthur White, Donald George White, Robert Eugene White, Paul Joseph White all of South Bend, Indiana and daughter, Lisa Michelle Hahl of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
She is survived by daughter Christine Marie Hahl Smith and granddaughter Ava Isabella Smith of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, son Michael James Hahl MD, his wife Dana Michelle and granddaughters Lauren Alyssa and Morgan Alexis Hahl of Louisville, Kentucky and a large extended family who mostly reside in northern Indiana.
An Evening Prayer Vigil will be held at 6:30 pm Monday, April 21st in the Vondel Smith Mortuary North Chapel, 13125 N. MacArthur Blvd.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, April 22nd at St. Eugene Catholic Church, 2400 W. Hefner RD.
A committal of ashes will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at Memorial Park Cemetery.
