Mary Ellen Johnson, 91, passed away July 28, 2012. Mary was born in Denton, OK to Russell Sage and Carmen (Shaw) Brown. After working 17 years for Buchanan Food Mart, Mary dedicated her life to taking care of her family and providing them with a warm and loving home. She was a faithful member of Sunnyside Baptist Church for over 50 years. Her family and friends will miss her dearly. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Joseph Dale "JD" Johnson; and grandson Nathan Hovarter. Survivors include her son Dale Johnson and wife Arlene; daughter Marla Hovarter and husband Edgar; 5 grandchildren, Kyle, Katie, and Keith Johnson, and Stefani, Matt and wife Stephanie Hovarter; 4 great grandchildren, Sunshine and Hayden Johnson, Lily Holbrook, and Hunter Hovarter; brother-in-law James Blythe; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Viewing is 4-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Services are 2:00 PM Wednesday at Sunnyside Baptist Church.
