Mary Sue Looper, 96, passed from this life peacefully on Monday, December 1, 2025. She was born April 15, 1929 in the family farm house in New Blaine, Arkansas, the youngest child of Buford and Inez (Hamilton) Stephens. After completing high school, Mary Sue met Andrew Jackson Looper (Andy) in Oklahoma City and they married on September 16, 1950. Mary Sue said that after having their first daughter, Andy "kept on" about having a second child. Until her death, she always said that was the best thing she ever let him talk her into! They shared 53 wonderful years together, filled with summer vacations and many activities until Andy passed away just shy of their 54th Wedding Anniversary on July 4, 2004. Mary Sue was a force of nature. When she made up her mind about something, she worked to see it fulfilled. In the early 1960's, she began working at Wilson Foods and Meat Packing Company as a meat processor to guarantee that money would be available to give her daughters a great life. It was hard, long hours of physical labor, but she did it for the girls. After 23 years of service, she retired on June 1, 1985; however, she did not sit down and stay home. Instead, she began creating ceramic wares that she sold at craft fairs throughout Oklahoma. Her creativity expanded over the years to encompass jewelry, crochet items and her famous homemade jellies, pickles, peanut brittle, fudge and pecan pies. She had many talents and excelled at them all. She loved to walk in the woods, to camp out under the stars, and to watch a sunset. She loved to garden, planting flowers and vegetables alike, which flourished so much, she gave produce to all of her neighbors and canned hundreds of jars of green beans in a summer. She loved to travel, first with the family and later with Sandra and her son-in-law Victor in their Cessna four-seater plane. She would say that her friends thought she was crazy to climb into the plane, but nothing could stop her. She loved the freedom and adventure. They had so many memorable trips together. Mary Sue's most valued time was spent with her family. She will be remembered as a fun-loving, generous woman with a kind spirit. She touched the hearts of everyone who met her, and she will be missed each and every day.

Mary was preceded in death by her mother and father, her husband, and her brother and sister-in-law, Darrel and Lorena Stephens.

She is survived by her daughters and son-in-laws, Brenda and Dan Bailey and Sandra and Victor Sobrado; one grandson and his wife, Michael and Trisha Bailey; three great-grandchildren, Makahla Bailey, Jackson Adams and Eliza Adams; one great-great-grandson, Kaiden Woody; and one nephew and five nieces.
