IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary Lou Virginia Jeanne
Davis
May 31, 1934 – October 4, 2025
"On October 4, 2025, an Angel kissed her and she slept."
Mary Lou Virginia Jeanne McMillan Davis, lovingly passed away peacefully on October 4, 2025. Born in Oklahoma City on May 31, 1934, to Lena Grace and her stepfather Earl Sale. Mary Lou grew up with a strong spirit, a warm heart, and a love of life.
She graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1953, where she proudly served as a cheerleader. Outside of school, she devoted herself to ballet--studying, performing, and later teaching others. She also developed a lifelong passion for golf. She was a member of WOGA, where she worked for a time rating courses around Oklahoma, served as President of the
Hillcrest Country Club Ladies' Golf Association, and proudly held the title of ladies club champion at Earlywine Golf Course.
In 1955, Mary Lou married the love of her life, Jimmy Davis. Together, they shared nearly 60 years of devoted marriage filled with love, laughter, and adventure. She delighted in cheering for Jimmy on the ball field, traveling the world by his side, and raising their two beautiful daughters.
Family was always at the center of her life. Mary Lou loved playing golf, but her greatest joy was being present for her children and cherishing her role as "Nanny" to her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Whether on the sidelines of a game, in the audience of a school event, or simply gathered together at home, her nurturing spirit and boundless love left an imprint on
everyone she touched.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jimmy Davis; her mother, Lena Grace Sale; her stepfather, Earl Sale; sisters, Katheryne Snart and Sharon Cannon; and brother, Bobby Earl Sale.
Mary Lou is survived by her sister, Donna Bales of OKC, OK, daughters, Donna Davis Brown of Tulsa, OK, and Jami Iago and husband Tommy of Newcastle, OK; grandchildren, Karah Brown, Luke Brown, Tyler Iago and wife Taylor, and Morgan Iago; and six cherished great-grandchildren: Tevin and Tristin Gant, Teagan and Tatum Iago, Vivian Roxanne, and Evelyn Rose.
Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she loved and who loved her in return.
