Mary Alice Maxwell of Oklahoma City, Ok, went to heaven on October 12, 2024. She was born to John and Gladys Brink on August 30th, 1928. She was the third of five children.

Mary lived her whole life in Oklahoma City. She was blessed with many talents. She had an exceptional work ethic. She learned to work her father's grocery store cash register at 8 years old. When she was 12 years old, she was highlighted in the Daily Oklahoman as a "knitting genius". She was knitting sweaters, caps, mittens and socks for the Red Cross. Her senior year in high school she was once again highlighted in an article for her dress making skills.

Mary graduated from Capitol Hill school in 1948. She married Bill Saak, and together they had 3 children. She started her working career at Sears & Roebuck in the offices. She then went to work for Ford Motor company as an executive secretary, retiring when Ford moved the offices to Dallas in the late 60's. She was self-employed for a number of years and also worked with oil and gas companies finally retiring from the Oklahoma Tax Commission.

After retirement Mary volunteered for South Community Hospital, and the National Cowboy Hall as a tour guide. She was active in her Church and Sunday school at Capitol Hill United Methodist. She loved Oklahoma and Western history. Traveling, sewing, dancing, hunting and knitting were just some of the few hobbies that she loved. She was such a fun person and was always up for an adventure. She was lucky enough to travel abroad several times, her favorite trip was going to Germany with her son Steve and grandson Eric, to visit her father's home, and meet extended family.

Above all, Mary adored her 3 children and all her grandchildren. She was always so proud of them and never missed a chance to show them off or brag (maybe a little too much) on their accomplishments. She was a person always ready to have fun, true to her word, loved to win and loved to be (an inside family joke) right.

The family would like to thank the workers at Sommerset Memory Care, especially Ashley, Izzy and Nina for such kind and loving care.

Mary is preceeded in death by her parents, siblings, Betty, Johnny, Frances, & William. Her daughter Sandra (Sandi) Stapleton and husband Billy.

She is survived by daughter Rebecca (Becky) Goodrich husband Jerry of Norman, OK. Stephen (Steve) Saak and wife Lacy of Oklahoma City, OK. Grandchildren Todd Stapleton and wife Michele, Mikki Jo Goodrich, Eric Saak, Jeremy Goodrich and wife Tabitha, Scott Stapleton, Nick Saak and wife Rachelle, and Alex Saak.
