IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary Louise
Mccuistion
June 6, 1935 – December 30, 2023
Mary McCuistion
June 6, 1935 – December 30th, 2023
Mary McCuistion age 88 of Warr Acres, Oklahoma passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on December 30th, 2023.
Mary Louise Haas was born to George Earl Haas and Dovie Lee Haas on June 6, 1935. She was raised on a farm near Asher, Ok. It was there where she met her best friend of 87 laughter filled years, Gearldean Matthews. As teenage girls they met the loves of their live's Jimmy and Earl "Hart" McCuistion. Mary and Jimmy married December 31st, 1951, beginning their 62-year love affair.
Mary and Jimmy moved to Tucson, Arizona due to his commitment to the United States Air Force and begin their married life. They loved their time in Tucson and created many wonderful memories. It was there that their first-born son, David, was born on December 7th, 1953.
In 1954, the couple decided to move back to Norman, Oklahoma (Boomer Sooner) where Jimmy attended the University of Oklahoma to complete his accounting degree. In April 1956 Mary gave birth their first daughter, Sherry. After completion of his degree, he gave up his job as a Norman police officer and they moved to their forever home in Warr Acres. They welcomed their second daughter, Kelli, in September of
1960.The couple decided early on in their marriage that Mary would be the CEO of their home and Jimmy would be the CFO. Their system worked beautifully for 62 years.
In 1975, with David off to college, Sherry married and Kelli in high school, Mary ventured out into the workplace. She interviewed with Kathi Engstrom, department manager at John A Brown Department store. A determined Mary with her availability for part-time work got the job and worked Mon –Thur. 10 to 2, no nights, and no weekend. Kathi took a chance on a feisty Mary, and this is how Kathi, and her husband Jim became lifelong friends with Mary and Jimmy and a huge part of our family. Friendships like these and others were always on full display when they would be spotted at on of their favorite places for fellowship, the Elks Lodge.
Mary loved to cook, and it warmed her heart when she was asked to share her beloved recipes. Mary loved hosting holiday dinners, birthdays, dinner parties with friends and our family reunions at the farm.
Mary was a loving devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is survived by 3 children: Son David McCuistion and his wife Gail McCuistion, Daughter Sherry Fanning and her husband Patrick Fanning and Daughter Kelli Proctor and Benny Proctor, Grandchildren, Jared McCuistion and wife Jennifer McCuistion, Josh McCuistion and wife Tiffany McCuistion, Alicia Wilson and husband Clay Wilson, Andrea Kurtz and husband Jeffrey Kurtz, Tiffany Lindley and her

Mary, Mom, Mommom:
While it has only been a few days, you are deeply missed but your spirit remains alive within us all. We know losing Gearl caused you so much pain and unhappiness. It brought back wonderful memories of family vacations, Chinese dinners, Shakey's pizza and all our holidays spent together. We believe in our hearts that you prayed to God for mercy and to take you home so you could spend your 72nd wedding anniversary with dad, Hart and Gearldean. We can see you and Gearl preparing a feast for all our family and friends in heaven with you. We love and miss you so much!
