Obituary

Mary Lou (Hadley) Middleton was born March 6, 1938 in Hollis, OK and died February 3, 2011 in OKC. A longtime resident of OKC, she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Saviour at the age of 12 and served Him faithfully for 60 years. Mary Lou graduated from the old Central High School in 1957 and fondly remembers her many friends & beloved teachers there.
She worked at Western Electric for several years before serving as a Director and preschool teacher at Hillcrest Daycare Center for 27 years, never missing one day of work. She oversaw the education of thousands of children and instilled a conscience and moral character in all of them. More importantly, she was a living testimony of God's amazing love and grace. Her dramatic, innovative teaching methods and nourishing, fresh meals gave to thousands of children the healthy minds and bodies they would need to become productive Christian members of society. Her husband often remarked, only half-jokingly, that she single-handedly raised the IQ of OKC by at least five points. Mary Lou taught 2nd grade Sunday school at Knob Hill Baptist Church in the same classroom for 13 years, never missing a single Sunday. Mary Lou attended Sunnylane Southern Baptist Church for years and treasured her pastors and
fellow church members there, especially her dear friends in the adult 4 Sunday school class. She lived in the same house for 41 years ministering God's love to her neighbors daily.
