Mary Ruth Morris, 75, went to be with the Lord on Feb. 17, 2011. She was born Nov. 29, 1935 in Ada, OK to Leland & Clara Scott. Mary graduated from Ada High School in 1953. In 1962, Mary moved from Wynnewood to the OKC area, where she worked for Bank of America for many years having served as Vice President and Manager of Securities. In her spare time, Mary was an avid golfer and served as past president of the Twin Hills Golf Assoc. as well as many other golf organizations. She was a longtime member of Southwest Church of Christ. She was a loving wife, devoted mother and loving grandmother who will be deeply missed. Preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Lee Ross & Bennie Scott. She leaves behind her loving husband of 56 years, Floyd F. Morris of the home; son, Ron Morris & wife, Lisa of OKC; sister, Betty Joann Gould & husband, Richard of Rockwall, TX; 2 grandchildren: Ronnie Morris, Jr. & wife, Jennifer and Matthew Morris & wife, Susan, all of OKC; and 1 great grandchild, Avery Morris. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Viewing will be 4-8 PM Saturday & 12-8 PM Sunday at Vondel Smith Mortuary, S. Lakes with the family greeting friends from 5-7 PM Sunday. Services to celebrate her life will be 10:00 AM Monday, Feb. 21, 2011 at the Southwest Church of Christ, 3031 S.W. 104th St., with interment to Heritage Burial Park at South Lakes.
