Mary Ruth Sargent, 85, of Oklahoma City, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on December 31, 2017. Mary was born in Dill City on June 24, 1932, to Chester Earl Wellborn "Check" and Erma Susan Richardson Wellborn - later married to Charles Louis Sterling. Mary graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1949. On August 25, 1950, she married the love of her life, R.W. Sargent, and shared 50 beautiful years together. Mary worked at FAA, and was an active member of Southwest Church of Christ where she led the Meals on Wheels ministry for many years. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and traveling with the Roadrunners Camping Club. Mary was preceded in death by her husband R.W. Sargent on June 5, 2001. Survivors include her children, Dianne Urias of Highland Village, Texas, Denise Followwill and husband Kenneth of Dallas, Texas and Debbie Doty and husband Gary of Wayne, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, Austin Urias, Annette Urias, Evan Urias, McKenzie Followwill, Kody Followwill, Justin Doty, Terence Doty and Emily Williams; and seven great grandchildren. Mary will be remembered as a dedicated servant of God. She was a loving mother, grandmother and true friend to many. Memorials may be made to Tipton Children's Home, 1000 N.
