Obituary

Max Armentrout left his earthly family to join his heavenly family on June 7, 2025, at the age of 74. He was born June 2, 1951 to James and Betty Armentrout in Ellis Kansas. Max was the 6th child of 10 and by far one of the orneriest! His family moved to Okarche Oklahoma in 1969 where Max would spend a better part of 10 years working farmland all up and down the Highway 81 corridor.

In 1978 Max moved to OKC where he met the love of his life, Mary Ann Stevens. They married in OKC June 23, 1978. Max and Mary were blessed with one child, Andrea Jill, born in April 1979.

Max joined the Hibdon Tire Family in 1978. For 47 years Max worked in many areas of the company, from driveway hand (which almost killed him at his age, as the young guys were hard on him), to store manager, building the tire stores, and then to his favorite of all jobs, managing and caring for the family "Ranch" in Newcastle OK. Everyone called him Sheriff Max because he was the family's constant security, hay manager, fixer of all things, and anything else needed in the daily operations of the property. When in need, we called Max! He loved the family property and knew every inch of it! Max would later tell you, that land was his church.

Max was a helper of people. He would go out of his way to help anyone in need. He was a mentor to the young men he hired, if you survived the school of Max, you were strong and courageous! Max never met a stranger and was always pulling some kind of prank or coming up with new ways to scare someone!
