Obituary

Melba Darlene Hall was born February 5, 1931 in Howe, Oklahoma to Virgil Lee & Othel Dora( James) Faulkenberry. Melba was raised in Howe along with her 3 sisters; Rowena, Marquieta, & Wilma. Melba Graduated from Howe High School in 1949. Melba married Jack Hall, of Howe, OK, on October 1st, 1949. They were wed in Poteau, OK. The two were blessed with 2 children, Raymond and Patricia. They raised their family in South Oklahoma City and were faithful members at Grace Assembly of God. Melba was a homemaker but also a had a career that spanned nearly 30 years. She worked for Prestolite Battery Manufacturing company in Oklahoma City. While she wore many hats during her time there, her main duty was accounting. She made many lasting friendships while working at Prestolite. In her spare time, Melba enjoyed using her special talent. She was a masterful quilter and loved making quilts for her family members and close friends. Her work ranged from small and basic to large and elaborate. If you've received one of Melba's quilts, just know that you were loved. In 2005, after 56 years of marriage, she lost the love of her life. Jack's passing brought along a new season of life for Melba. It was unknown territory but with the help of her children, sisters and friends she was able to work through her grief. She spent her later years living at Village on the Park and was able to enjoy activities and make new friends along the way. Melba will always be remembered for her quilting and cooking.
