Melvin, 83, entered Heaven's gates on 1/12/16, born 6/14/32 to William Earl & Georgia Lucille Cate-Hatley, in Dike, TX. Mel was known for his entrepreneurial spirit, having worked in banking, real estate, cattle, but of all these endeavors, his love for horses & the industry were his passion.

Mel was preceded in death by his parents & brother, Gary Don Hatley. He leaves cherished memories with his wife of 41 yrs. Judy; his daughter Terry Hatley-Knippers & husband Shural, his daughter, Constance Hatley, his son, Mel, Jr. and their mother Norma Hatley; 1 brother Jerry Hatley & a host of other loving family & friends. The family will be present to receive friends for visitation will be 4-8 PM on Friday 1/15/16 at the funeral home.
