Viewing will be 4-8 PM today with the family greeting friends from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.

Services will be held 10:00 AM Friday, Feb 14, 2014 at the South Lakes Chapel.

Burial will follow at 2:00 PM at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Ft. Cobb, OK.

The son of James K. and Jessie (Templeman) Kitchens, Gene was born October 19, 1925 in Waltreak, Arkansas. After graduating from high school, Gene enlisted in the United States Navy. He married the love of his life, Oleta Delois Tramel on November 13, 1953 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He provided a warm and loving home by working in the accounting department for Tinker Air Force Base for 39 years, before his retirement in 1983. In his spare time, Gene enjoyed oil painting, music, and playing the organ and piano, mostly for church activities. He was very knowledgeable about his genealogy and was a 32 degree mason. A longtime member of Capitol Hill Church of God and later the Shartel Church of God, Gene was a hardworking, loving and loyal man of God who will be deeply missed. Gene was preceded in death by his: Parents; Four Sisters: Vera Damon, Jessie Kimbrough, Lois Kimbrough and Hazel Hunt; Brother; Jerry Woodrow Kitchens. He leaves behind his loving: Wife of 60 years, Oleta Kitchens of the home; Sister-in-law, Loretta Jones; Niece and Nephew, Janie and Jimmy Kimbrough; Many other nieces, nephews, loving family and friends.
