Viewing will be 4-8 PM Thursday, March 6, 2025 at Vondel Smith Mortuary South, 6934 S. Western Ave, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Funeral services for Michael will be 1:00 PM Friday, March 7, 2025 at the Vondel Smith South Colonial Chapel with burial to follow at the Czech National Cemetery, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Michael Kevin Mitchell passed away peacefully from this life to be with his Lord and Savior on February 28, 2025, in Edmond, Oklahoma. He was born on June 15, 1961 to Jim and Beverly (Morava) Mitchell. Michael attended public school in Oklahoma City and graduated from Central High School. Michael was always a very loving and happy person with a sweet soul. He never met a stranger and made friends wherever he went. He loved to work. Michael's favorite job was in the student union at the University of Oklahoma, in Norman, Oklahoma. He had a love for Elvis and music and was known to many and referring to himself as Elvis #2. His mother made him an Elvis costume and he was very proud of it, wearing it every chance he got. Michael was very fortunate, getting to visit Graceland not once but twice in his life. He told his mom that he was going to buy Graceland for her. Above all, he truly loved life, family and friends. Michael will truly be missed by everyone that had the opportunity to meet him.
He was preceded in death by his:
Father,Jim Mitchell;
Paternal grandparents, Leonard and Jurlene Mitchell;
Maternal Grandparents, Elmer and Audrey Morava
Michael leaves many lasting and cherished memories with his:
Mother, Beverly (Morava) Mitchell;
Sister, Lisa Anderson and husband, Ted;
Niece, Taylor Herrera and husband, Jimmy and Great Nieces, Liliana and Camila;
Nephew, Brandon Anderson and wife, Leah and Great Nephew, Teddy and Great Niece, Maisie;
Many cousins and a host of friends, to count.
