Newton, 82, received his Heavenly reward on Jan 4, 2016. The son of Jasper Newton & Grace Mae Freeman, Newton was born Feb 16, 1933 in OKC. After attending Capitol High School, Newton joined the US Air Force and honorably served with the USAF for 6 years, before remaining in active duty Air National Guard for over 30 years. After his retirement, Newton worked in real estate for over 10 years. He was a successful realtor with Bob Lynn & Associates. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking and built many items for his friends and family including furniture and small trinkets. Newton also enjoyed traveling with his family and close friends, always traveling as often as he could. He had a jovial personality and loved telling corny jokes. He always said, "If you can't laugh at yourself, who can you laugh at?" With a servant's heart, Newton served the Lord, his family and others. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Will Rogers Air National Guard Retirees, Gray Eagles, volunteered at the Redding Senior Citizen Nutrition Center for 20 years and was an active member of St James Catholic Church for 59 years.
