Obituary

Nora (Thompson) Brown, 91, passed away Tuesday, September 16th, 2025 in Oklahoma City.

Nora was born in Marlow, Oklahoma on March 28, 1934 to Guy and Bonnie Thompson.  She graduated from Bray High School. She married her school sweetheart and love of her life, JB Brown on  Christmas Day in 1952 at her parents' home in Bray. Not long after they were wed, JB was drafted into the US Army. He and Nora lived in Chicago during that time. After J.B. was discharged, they moved to Oklahoma City.

Nora and JB were blessed with a daughter, Laura and son, Kelly. Nora was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker. She adored her family and always made sure they knew just how much she loved and cared for them. Nora and her family were active members at Cumberland Presbyterian Church in OKC for many years. In 1974 Nora and her family moved out to Tuttle and they settled in for the long haul. Nora began working for Tuttle Public Schools as a 2nd grade assistant. She worked for the school system for over 25 years. She began her work at the elementary school, Jr. High and later the high school. For much of her career at TPS she worked in the Library assisting in various capacities. JB and Nora were members of the Tuttle Methodist Church. She was very involved with the Methodist Womens's group in various activities such as the Annual Christmas Dinner, Holiday Bazaar, church dinners and the food pantry. She also worked for the Community Store in Tuttle and enjoyed helping out there. It was a passion project of Nora's and helping there meant a lot to her.

Nora enjoyed sewing and used to make clothing and mend clothing for her family when the children were younger.  She also enjoyed cooking and making food for her friends and family. She was well known for serving up delicious dishes and making others feel special.  Nora spent a lot of time with her children and later her grandchildren. She cherished the memories she made with her family as they grew.

Nora will be missed dearly by her family and friends, but her light will continues to shine through the lives that she touched.
