Norida June Brooks, 89, of Oklahoma City, OK, passed away Nov. 4, 2015. She was born in Alluwe, OK on May 19, 1926, the oldest of 9 children. She loved to visit with her family and to participate in church activities. In her spare time, her passion was all varieties of handiwork, including sewing, quilting, crocheting, embroidery work, and other arts and crafts. Her family and friends are grateful for all the items she gifted to them over the years. She is survived by her daughter Rhonda Brooks and husband Bob Sandler of Pinehurst, NC, son Randy Brooks of Edmond, OK, grandsons Ryan Brooks and Benjaman Brooks, granddaughter Brigetta Brooks, sister-in-law Charlotte Brooks of Anderson, IN, brother James Perry Cooper, Jr. of Tulsa, OK, sisters Marjorie Pipkin of Austin, TX, Wanda Freels of Henderson, NV, Pamela Julian of Memphis, TN, and Connie Woodruff of Kenific, OK, along with numerous other loving family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence C. Brooks. A remembrance and celebration of life will be held on Nov. 21, 2015, from 3:00 – 5:00pm at the Commons Room, Town Center Building, The Fountains at Canterbury, 1404 NW 122nd St., Oklahoma City, OK.
