Norma Jean Holland (Aycock) Williams entered heaven's gates on Sunday, April 3rd, 2022 from Bethany, Oklahoma. She was 94 years old. The daughter of Sydney Orville & Angie Celestine (Gifford) Holland, Norma was born on June 16, 1927, in Springfield, Missouri. She graduated from Westville High School, in Westville, Oklahoma.

After high school she moved to Oklahoma City to attend Bible College. There she fell in love with one of the Bible instructors, Gene Aycock and they married on August 6th, 1948. Together they pastored several churches. They were blessed with two children, Galen and Marcia Aycock. While in ministry together, Norma wore many hats as they did in those days, including playing the piano as well as leading various ministries. She even mowed the 4-acre church lawn each week while her husband worked a second job to support their family! She was dedicated to doing her best for God.

Nursing was a passion for her all of her life. Her love of a nursing career started early when she was 17 as a nursing assistant at Tahlequah Hospital. Later, she went to nurses training and became a Registered Nurse in 1970. She graduated at the top of her class – summa cum laude. She enjoyed working in a doctor's office environment, working side-by-side with the doctor, doing what she loved – helping people!

On September 4th,1981 she married Wilson Williams. Marrying Wilson brought her five more children; so, her family grew large overnight. She so enjoyed her now huge family! She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed sewing and working in her yard. She couldn't stand the very sight of a weed!

Later on, she switched to working as an in-home private duty nurse. She loved caring for others in this way. To her, it was a ministry. Her phenomenal nursing career spanned 68 years before retiring at the age of 85. At 85 years old, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and retired to turn her focus to her own health and undergoing cancer treatment.

Being born in a very God-honoring home, she has been fully dedicated to God virtually all of her life, serving Him in various churches and ministries. In her last years, she was a faithful member of Crossroads Church. No matter how she felt, she just didn't want to miss a single service! She committed herself to exercising with a personal trainer three times a week up through last Wednesday. She was very strong-willed and tenacious. She was very willing to sacrifice – in order to bring blessing into the lives of others. She grew up in the Great Depression! She never complained or got huffy about anything. Every day she lived, her disposition became sweeter and more gentle – and more like Jesus! She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all of those who knew and loved her.
