Orin Lee Crossley, 77, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Thursday, December 19, 2024, following a brief illness.
Orin was born on January 2, 1947 in Wichita, Kansas to Basil Wayne & Rachel Eleanor (Tyner) Crossley. He graduated with the class of 1965 from Rose Hill High School in Rose Hill, Kansas. Shortly after graduation he enrolled at the University of Oklahoma where he earned his Bachelor's Degree.
Orin married Camille on July 2, 1967 in Rose Hill, Kansas.
After graduation from O.U. he began working for Saint Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City, primarily in the IT Department. He was also employed with Republic Supply during the same time period. Additionally, Orin was attending Oklahoma City University where he earned his Master's Degree in Finance.
In 1977, Orin joined Reserve National Health Insurance where he worked his way to becoming the President of the company. His career spanned nearly 38 years, retiring in 2014. Orin enjoyed spending time at Grand Lake with his fur pal, Millie. His grandchildren brought him the most joy. He rarely missed any track meets, dance performances, volleyball tournaments or baseball games. He will be remembered for his kind heart and gentle spirit. Orin was preceded in death by his parents, sister Ruth Harder and precious granddaughter Brooklynn Birney.
He leaves wonderful and cherished memories with those who survive his passing; his wife Camille; daughter Stephanie Gardiner & husband Jason and their children/in law Emily & Justin Brown & Ella Gardiner; daughter Shannon Birney & husband Tony, and their children Brynlee & Barron Birney; and a newest addition to the family, his great granddaughter Callie Brown; brothers Burton & Joseph Crossley, sister Rachel Crossley & brother-in-law Mark Harder. .
There will be no public viewing or services to announce.
The family will be gathering for a private family-only service on December 28, 2024.
In Lieu of Flowers the family suggests memorial donations to the charity of the donor's choice, or honoring Orin by donating blood through "Our Blood Institute".
