Obituary

Owen William Crouch, Jr. of The Village, OK passed away on February 27th, 2020 in Oklahoma City. Owen was born on Christmas eve 1935 in McAlester, Oklahoma to Owen and Martha Crouch. He was delivered by his paternal grandmother Ebbie Crouch at the homestead. Owen grew up in the south Oklahoma City district of Capitol Hill. Owen graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1954 and shortly after that time he was drafted into the U.S. Army. Owen served his country for 2 years and was very proud to be a Veteran. After the Army, Owen attended UCO working towards a bachelor's degree. Owen met the love of his life, Beverly Minnick while in junior high school and the two were married in 1954. They were blessed with 3 children. They both worked hard to provide for Scott, Kathy and Ken. Owen worked long hours for BS&B Steel, Wilson Meat Packing and Wonder Bakery before the start of his career at FAA as a Software Systems Analyst. Even after retirement, he was recruited for his expertise in computer technology. Owen and Beverly enjoyed watching their family grow. Owen was an avid hunter and fisherman. He would load his beloved bird dogs up in the truck to go quail hunting. He enjoyed taking his family to the lease to fish. Owen's greatest joy was seeing his grandchildren's happy faces when they returned home from shopping with Grandma. He loved it when his grandchildren sat in his chair with him to watch ET and to play video games. Special occasions were spent with family and his longtime friend Armando at the local Chelino's Mexican restaurant. Their special handshake and enchilada dinner made his day. His wife Beverly passed away in 1995 after a battle with cancer and that loss would forever change Owen's life. His children, family and friends stuck by his side to keep his spirits up as the years passed by, but there was always something missing Owen spent his final days doing what he loved – watching old westerns and reminiscing about his life with Beverly. Owen has finally been reunited with his wife and that void remains no longer. He will be missed by his family, but they know he is now at peace.
