Albert (Al, A.C., "Ozzie") went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 24, 2011 at the age of 89. He was born March 28, 1922 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to his parents, Clarence and Lillian Ossenkop. Ozzie was a much-loved South OKC resident of long standing, a highly respected Christian, and a nationally recognized educator with a career spanning 34 years. He attended OKC Public Schools and graduated from Classen High School in 1940. In 1940-41, he attended Oklahoma A&M, now O.S.U. From 1942-46, Ozzie served in the United States Navy during World War II. After being discharged in 1946, he began his college studies at OCU from 1946-48. Then from 1948 to mid-term of 1951, Ozzie attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois receiving his bachelors and master degrees in Music Education. While at Capitol Hill High School, he attended OU pursuing a Doctorate degree in Music Education. Among his many accomplishments, Ozzie's career was highlighted by 22 years as Director of Choral Activities and the Concert Choir at Capitol High School from 1950-1972, and served as an Administrator at South OKC Community College for 12 years. In 1961, Ozzie was the only high school choral director in the United States to become a charter member of the American Choral Director's Association. Through his excellence as a choral director in 1961, he was elected to Who's Who for Choral Directors in America. Under Ozzie's direction, the Capitol Hill Concert Choir was known as one of the most outstanding choirs in the Southwest and its' innovative activities were displayed to appreciative audiences throughout the Nation and Canada. The brightest beam of light while at Capitol Hill was his marriage to Wanda and having two children who graduated from Capitol Hill High School, Nicki in 1967 and Mike in 1969. Ozzie and Wanda were blessed with four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Wife, Wanda Lee Ossenkop on November 30, 2009.
Ozzie is survived by his:
Daughter, Nicki Carter and husband Steven;
Son, Mike Ossenkop and wife Teresa;
Brother-in-law, Doyt Carter;
Sister-in-law, Donna Jernigan and husband John (Ozzie's "brother-from-another-mother");
Four grandchildren and Six Great Grandchildren;
plus a multitude of former school and church choir members.
