Obituary

Patricia "Pat" Smith Zanola, 88, of Moore, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, January 22, 2026.

She was born in Ada, Oklahoma on September 1, 1937 to Ola Bell (Hart) & Melvin Smith. Pat was raised in Oklahoma City and graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1955. Shortly after high school Pat moved to Milwaukee before returning home to Oklahoma. She enjoyed going to church, traveling, including places like Jerusalem, and trying to keep her younger brother, Gene, out of mischief.

Pat began her career with Western Electric which spanned over many years. They later merged Southwestern Bell and then with AT&T, and she stayed through it all.  Pat retired later as a Senior Electric Specialist with AT&T. She made unforgettable memories and many lasting friendships during her career.

On August 13, 1990, Pat married the love of her life, Dale Zanola. They started a new chapter of life together and made some of the best memories. Pat and Dale attended Shartel Church of God, where Pat had been a member for many years. They were both active in Sunday School, bible studies and loved their church family dearly. After Dale passed away in September 1999, Pat was able to find comfort in the Lord and through the support of her family and friends.

Pat loved her family, her friends, playing piano and singing in the church choir.  She would do whatever she could to help those in need. Pat loved her dogs and had a variety of breeds over the years. She loved serving her Lord Jesus Christ and loved her church family.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Ola Bell Smith, husband, Dale Zanola, brother Eugene Smith, children Sandra Sherry Lynn Ennis, Claudia Kaye Ficklin, Kathy Leigh Salazar Zanola, Phillip Charles Zanola and two grandchildren, Johnny Hartley and Kathryn Salazar.
