Patty Irene (Rice) Earnest passed away December 24, 2009 at the age of 78. She was born August 14, 1931 in Osage County to Horace Eugene and Bessie Irene (McGowen) Rice. She grew up in Ponca City but lived most of her life in Oklahoma City where she was a homemaker as well as an accountant. Patty was a member of the American Bridge Association and enjoyed playing cards, crossword puzzles, her grandchildren and was a dedicated OU fan. She was a loving and loyal, mother, grandmother, and friend and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Bill Earnest. She is survived by her son Steve Earnest and daughter-in-law Candy Crist of Houston, TX, her daughter Kim Bishop and grandchildren Alex and Katie of Edmond, her sister June Coffelt of Ponca City, as well as numerous other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 29 at Vondel Smith North Colonial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mercy Health Foundation; Attn Kay Oliver 4300 W.
