A service to celebrate the life of Paul Allred will be held 2:00 PM Monday, November 22, 2010 at Exchange Avenue Baptist Church with interment to follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens Oklahoma City


ALLRED, Paul R., went to be with the Lord on Nov. 18, 2010. Paul was born on June 26, 1924 in St. Louis, MO. He attended Jackson Jr. High and graduated from Capitol Hill High School. After graduation, he joined the Navy and served his country during WWII. Paul became an OKC Fire Fighter and retired as Captain of the Stockyard's Station known as the "River City Gang". He completed flight lessons and received a Solo Private and Commercial license. He was an outdoorsman at heart. Paul was an accomplished fisherman and participated in many bass fishing tournaments. Most of all, Paul had a passion for golf that began while he was a teen and started working as a caddie at the golf course. He loved to play and compete in golf tournaments and he won many of them. Paul was a regular at Trosper Golf Course and even worked there until just a few years ago. Paul was a dedicated member of Exchange Avenue Baptist Church and his face would light up when talking about his church and his friends there. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Bernice Allred; father, Paul W. Allred; mother, Helen Johnson; and brother, D.K. Allred. He is survived by his wife, Chris Mathes; daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl Ann Wright and Gary Wright; son, Danny Sam Allred; granddaughter and husband, Stacey and Robert Rawls; grandson and wife, Blake and Tammy Wright; and seven great grandchildren, Ashlyn, Lucas, Blake, TJ, Westin, Luke and Rex. Paul also leaves many close friends. He will truly be missed. Viewing is Sunday from 12-8 PM at the funeral home. Services are 2:00 PM Monday, Nov. 22, 2010 at Exchange Avenue Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
