Paul Emile Bouchereau, Jr. was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, January 23, 1956. He died at the age of 70 in Oklahoma City on June 4, 2026. He leaves behind his wife of 45 years, Sherry and his three children: Cassie, Paul III and Danny. His Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on July 11, 2026 at First Presbyterian Church, 1001 NW 25th Street, Oklahoma City. The service will also be live streamed. Paul Jr was an avid meteorologist. He shared his knowledge of weather serving as the television meteorologist in Paducah, KY; Lafayette, LA; Omaha, NE and Oklahoma City, OK. He continued sharing his knowledge of meteorology after he retired from television. He continued to keep friends and family updated on stormy weather. 

Paul's interest in weather began with a Boy Scout project. Paul and his father Paul Sr built a Stevenson screen to track the weather in Metairie, LA. Paul and his dad continue tracking the weather through his time at De La Salle High School. He also kept busy playing the french horn in the DLS marching band. He was the third baseman on the DLS baseball team. 

Paul attended Louisiana State University for his college basics as well as playing baseball. He transferred to University of Oklahoma to study Meteorology where he was a member of the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity, refereed intramural sports & played intramural sports. 

Paul began his career as a meteorologist working for WeatherScan, International as a senior at OU. While working at WeatherScan, he was asked to audition for a television meteorologist on a new start-up station Fox 42. He was a natural and thus began his television career. 

It was at WPSD-TV in Paducah, KY where Paul began the Christmas Eve tradition of reading Cajun Night Before Christmas by “TROSCLAIR”, edited by Howard Jacobs, illustrated by James Rice. After a brief phone call to his dad, Paul would read the tale in his authentic Cajun accent. 

Paul enjoyed teaching anyone who would listen about the weather. He found great joy in visiting area schools and sharing his love and knowledge of weather with the students. 

When Paul wasn’t on air or helping track tornadoes, you would find him refereeing Middle School and High School volleyball, basketball or baseball in the Oklahoma City Metroplex. He later returned to the sport of bowling, playing in a league in OKC. 

As a lifelong sports fan, Paul followed the Houston Astros, New Orleans Saints, OKC Thunder, Louisiana State University Tigers and Oklahoma University Sooners. He loved to debate the calls made during each and every game. When one of his teams was in the off season, he would rewatch the games that he had recorded. 

Paul kept friends and family updated about the weather via his facebook page & phone calls. He also added a bit of trivia and a piece of humor to his post. This insatiable sense of humor began early. On an early report card, he received a “C” in conduct - the comment: “Paul was the class clown!” His mom called the teacher to make sure she had not made a mistake. 

‘Dad loved telling the story of young Danny’s sweet and earnest nature, from dutifully preparing to “yell at the cats” (who left footprints all over his car window) to defending our cat who “could still play a game,” moments that capture the humor and compassion that made him so special.’ 

Paul Jr is preceded in death by his parents: Paul Sr & Lois Bouchereau; in-laws: Pat & Bobby Kuekes; and by his uncle Donald Lutenbacher. He is survived by his wife Sherry, their children - Cassie, Paul III & wife April; and Daniel & wife Courtney. Sisters - Renee Eckerle & husband Roy, niece Michelle Fox & husband David; Camille Laird & husband Jon, nephew Paul Laird & wife Laura, their children Jordan Laird & Tyler Fisher; niece Rachel Laird & wife Holly Aleandro; and Netti Scudari & husband Art, niece Erin Robichaux & husband Kadin, their children Draco & Montana / brother in law - David Kuekes / aunt - Clare Lutenbacher and cousin - Mark Lutenbacher. 

Paul touched many lives. He will be remembered fondly for the moments shared and the memories created. Numerous family, friends and colleagues have extended their love and support during this time. While Paul’s presence will be missed, the influence he had on others will remain. Those who knew him well will carry forward memories that reflect his character and spirit.
