Bowles
June 6, 1939 – May 6, 2024
Peggy Joyce Bowles, 84, passed peacefully from her earthly life into the loving arms of Jesus on May 6th, 2024, with "her girls" and her family by her side.
Peggy was born on June 6th, 1939 to Leon and Katherine Dyer at Samaritan Hospital in Oklahoma City and was raised in Moore, OK. After graduating from Moore High School in 1957, she spent the next few years in the insurance industry.
On December 29th, 1960, she married Donald E. Bowles and started her family. She had two girls whom she loved and adored and was a pillar of strength to all of her children, sons-in-law, grandchildren and great grandchildren and absolutely loved attending all of the grandchildren's athletic, musical and academic events. She was a very involved "Nanny."
On January 9th, 1989, she joined the new staff of Judge Gary Lumpkin on the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals, where she was his Administrative Assistant for nearly 27 years until her retirement on September 1st, 2015.
Peggy loved life and will always be remembered as the best Mom, Nanny and mother-in-law there ever was.
Peggy was preceded in death by her Mother and Daddy as well as her "baby sissy", Phyllis.
She is survived by her two daughters, Kristi Bradford and husband Tom; Keri Jones and husband Richard all of Moore, OK.
Five grandchildren; Erin Conyers and husband Mark, Sean Bradford, Ryli Martinez and husband Narciso, Morganne and Mason Jones. Five great-grandchildren; Nic Conyers and wife Bri, Emma and Jaxon Conyers, Sirus and Evangeline Martinez.
Peggy is also survived by many friends and extended family like her Court of Criminal Appeals family as well as her childhood friends of over 70 years, Jeanette Whitten and Bernice Milius. She will be missed by many.
Services to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, May 10th, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Vondel Smith South Lakes Chapel (4000 S.W. 119th) with interment following at the Moore City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that Memorial Contributions be made to CureSMA.org in honor of her great-granddaughter, Evie who was born with Spinal Muscular Atrophy.
