Peggy Geraldine Heard, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, went to be with the Lord on July 14, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was 74 years old. Peggy was born on July 23, 1949, in Wapanucka, OK, to Olean and W.E. Lemley.

Peggy was a kind and gentle soul whose first love was family. She enjoyed sharing time with family and friends, spending countless hours spreading her contagious joy and laughter. Peggy was small in stature, but big in heart, always there for those around her, providing strength and optimism. She worked for the American Farmers and Ranchers Insurance company for 39 years, until her retirement in 2021. She made a positive impression on those she worked with, creating lifetime friendships, many who became extended family. Her life changed in 1997, and again in 2003, when she became a grandma. She loved being a grandma and would never pass up the chance to tell you about her grandsons. Peggy was also a fighter. Throughout her battle, she fought to the end with a positive attitude and a smile or kind word for everyone she met. She will be missed, but her memory and spirit will continue to impact us.

Peggy is survived by her husband James Heard; her daughter and son-in-law Leah and Mark Lewis; her daughter Sandra Keeler; grandsons Mark Lewis Jr. and Joseph Keeler Jr.; sisters Wilma Lynch and Carla Lemley; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents W.E. and Olean Lemley and brothers Jerry Lemley and Terry Lemley.
