IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Peggy Ann
Thomas
April 9, 1952 – October 3, 2023
Peggy Ann Thomas was born Apr. 9, 1952, to Earl Dean and Mary Lerlene (Minchew) Jobe, in Dermott, AR. She was the oldest of the four children in the Jobe family. Being the oldest, she learned early what it meant to be a caretaker. She excelled at school, studied hard and always asked questions. She married young, and had two beautiful children, Kathy and Greg. Then while the children were still very young, she found herself facing the challenge of being a single mom, working and raising her kids while at the same time, growing up herself. In the fall of 1979, she met and married Freddie Thomas, whom she loved and adored. Fred became a devoted dad to Kathy and Greg and Peggy also had the blessing of gaining another child, Fred's daughter Karla.
Peggy and Fred were partners in everything they did. Peggy helped Fred at his body shop, and she also worked many years at United Grocery Store. During this time, they both became involved in all the kid's activities at school, sports and their class fund raisers. They were also very involved in the Roosevelt Baptist Church.
After the kids left home, they became interested in the real estate business. They bought foreclosed homes and repaired them. These were either sold or rented, so they could fix up more properties.
When Peggy's father became ill, she made sure that he got to all his appointments, and there were a few times she gave his doctors some advice. While the chaos of chemo trips and checkups for her father were going on, Fred took ill. Peggy lost her father and Fred in the same year, 2018, and her mother developed dementia. Peggy along with her sisters, Sue and Diane, all shared the caretaking roll for their mother, who passed away in 2022. Thru all this time she leaned heavily on her faith in God. Her mantra was "Faith, Family & Friends".
Peggy departed this life on Oct. 3, 2023, and is now boot scooting across heaven with Fred once again.
Preceding her in death was, husband Freddie Thomas, father Earl Jobe, and her mother Lerlene Jobe.
She leaves behind her children, daughter Kathy Sholl of OKC, son Greg Thomas of Altus, OK and Karla and Rocky Armstrong, of Yukon, and sisters, Ella Sue Kendrick of Farmington, AR, Debbie and Mike Miller, of Blair, OK, Diane and Dan Crofford of Moore, Ok.
