Obituary

In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to Exchange Avenue Baptist Church Youth Group.

Phillip Franklin Leazure was born on January 1, 1947 to Cecil and Dorothy Leazure. He passed away the morning of July 2, 2022. He is survived by his wife Linda of 55 years, daughter Shanna Baker, daughter and son-in-law Kerri and Tim Groves, 4 precious granddaughters Emily Fraire and her husband Chris, Ashley Baker, Taylor and Tori Groves, and his brother and sister-in-law David and Connie Leazure. He also had several other kids and grandkids that he considered his own.

Phillip was a proud graduate of Capitol Hill High School. He served as a Radioman in the United States Navy for 4 years. He then worked for Dayton Tire for 30+ years. After retiring from Dayton, he began working at Kimray until he retired in 2014.

Phillip was a deacon at Exchange Avenue Baptist Church for about 40 years. He loved his church family, and they loved him. Phillip loved teaching Sunday School and was an outstanding teacher.

Phillip was known for his funny sense of humor, always ready with a quick comeback or a joke. He loved his Kung-Fu movies, music, judge shows, playing games with family (especially Mahjong), and cheering on his Oklahoma State University Cowboy football team.

He was the "MacGyver" before that was popular. Give him some duct tape and super glue, and he could fix anything!

Phillip meant so much to so many people, and he will be truly missed.
