Quinn Callaway III passed away on May 26, 2026.
He was born on January 4, 1935, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, the only child of Lorena and Howard Callaway. He is survived by his wife Kay Callaway, daughter Kim Bauer, OKC, son Kevin Callaway, Philippines and one grandson Alex Callaway, a United States Marine, South Carolina.
He attended Baylor Academy and The McCallie School (class of 1953), prestigious college prep military schools in Chattanooga, TN. He also attended The University of Tennessee, Auburn University, Oklahoma State University and the University of Oklahoma for his studies.
His professional career was in architecture. As a private architect, Quinn worked on the design of the Baylor Medical Center in Houston, TX, Oral Roberts projects in Tulsa, OK. In Bartlesville, OK, he designed the Jane Phillips Episcopal Hospital, The Department of Defense contracted Quinn in 1965 for architectural design work at Kelly Air Force Base. In 1966, he worked at Tinker Air Force Base as the base architect. From 1979 to 1983, Quinn achieved five AFLC Design Awards.
All of these were project manager awards. Additionally, Quinn worked with the Canadian Air Force on NORAD and with the Corp of Engineers in Tulsa, OK, as District Architect for construction covering air force bases in OK and AR.
Quinn was a member of the American Institute of Architects. He was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity of Auburn University and the University of Oklahoma. Quinn was a voting board member of Midwest City Chamber of Commerce, a member of Midwest City Rotary Club, board member of Civic Music Oklahoma City and a member of West Oklahoma City Rotary Club.
For 5 years, Quinn served as lay reader for the Episcopal Church in Yukon, OK, for Father Law. Quinn ushered at the All Souls' Episcopal Church for 17 years.
Quinn and Kay’s love story started at All Souls' where they met in the Singles Group December, 2016. Kay said that Quinn was fun, funny and a gentleman. They married December 1, 2018 at All Souls'.
They had a beautiful and blessed marriage with many great memories. Kay’s heart is broken because she said that Quinn was her gift from God.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, June 12, at 10:00 am at the All Souls' Episcopal Church Chapel of St. Mary, 6400 North Pennsylvania Ave., Oklahoma City.
