Rebecca "Lynn" Lowder
January 6, 1958 ~ November 8, 2023
Rebecca Lynn Lowder was welcomed to a new home and into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ, on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at the age of 65. The daughter of Etta Mae (Camden) and John Smulligan, Lynn was born on January 6, 1958 in Elk City, Oklahoma. Lynn grew up in Elk City where she attended Elk City Public Schools and graduated in 1976 from Elk City High School. While in Elk City, Lynn met a young man by the name of Alan Ray Lowder. The two fell in love, and became inseparable. They were united in holy matrimony on May 21, 1977. Lynn and Alan made Oklahoma City, Oklahoma their home for most of their 46 years of marriage. Lynn and Alan extended their family with the births of Melissa in 1979 and Kristy in 1982. Lynn became a Christian and believer in the resurrected Lord at the age of 16 and was a member of Southern Hills Baptist Church of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the time of her death. Lynn was a loving wife, devoted mother, and dedicated homemaker. Lynn took much pride in keeping her home spotless, inside and outside. One of Lynn's favorite activities was routinely being chauffeured by Alan on Saturday mornings to her favorite places to shop and use her coupons. For 35 years Lynn met the needs of a church staff and its members as an Administrative Assistant and Support Staff at the churches of First Baptist Church of Moore, Oklahoma; Cornerstone Baptist Church of Coral Springs, Florida and most recently at Southern Hills Baptist Church of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Lynn always had a heart for the Lord and for serving others. One of her greatest joys in life was being a grandmother. She dearly loved her grandchildren and proudly displayed their pictures in her home and office. Lynn was so thankful that the Lord provided two wonderful sons-in-law, Daren and Aaron, to love and care for her beloved daughters. Lynn also loved all animals, especially her two rescue fur babies Charlie & Crew. Unselfishly, she used her time and talents to further the Body of Christ in all her endeavors. She left quite a legacy for everyone to follow, and her memory will forever be in the hearts of those she touched.
Lynn was preceded in death by her:
