Ricky Joe Tierce

October 28, 1954 ~ July 7, 2023

Ricky Joe Tierce left this earth too soon on Friday, July 7, 2023, at the age of 68. Ricky was born on October 28, 1954 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to his mother Dorothy (Weger) and father Everet Hershel Tierce. A 40 year cancer survivor; Ricky fought a second round of cancer, and while it was a well fought battle, he succumbed to his illness. Ricky graduated from Western Heights High School. He married his high school sweetheart, Anita Pauline Wortham, the two were united in marriage on July 3, 1976. Together for 51 years, they shared more than 47 years of marriage. One of the proudest moments in his life, is when he and Anita were blessed with their two sons, Steven and Erick. Ricky worked at Seagate and later in the HVAC industry, as well as doing many other equipment and general repairs. He was truly a MASTER of all trades. He could fix anything he set his hands and mind to. Through his skills and knowledge, he helped many people throughout the course of his life. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wheatland. In his spare time, Ricky also enjoyed tinkering and repairing anything he could find, but nothing was as special and important to him as spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, devoted father, doting grandfather and loyal friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Ricky leaves behind his loving:

Wife of 47 years ~ Anita Pauline Tierce;

Son ~ Steven A. Tierce

Son ~ Erick B. Tierce and his wife, Mandi

Grandchildren ~ Emily Iris Warlick-Tierce, Cove Presley Tierce, Aubree, Hadley and Brantley Tierce; Rachel Warlick, the mother of granddaughter Emily

Brother-in-laws ~ Danny and Linda Wortham, Roy Wortham, Douglas Wortham, and Joe Wortham

A host of nieces and nephews

One additional grandchild is being expected by son Erick and wife Mandi

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 10th, 2023, from 4pm-8pm at Vondel L Smith & Son Mortuary at South Lakes, 4000 SW 119th Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73173. Services will be held at Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary at South Lake, Tuesday, July 11th, 2023, at 10:00am. Interment to follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Wheatland, OK.
