Robert Eugene "Gene," Carpenter, 91 years of age, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2023, in Ada, OK. Gene was the son of Robert Edwin Carpenter and Cloves Gilbert Carpenter, and was born on February 9,1932, in Kansas City, MO.

Gene served in the United States Air Force from 1951-1955 and was a Staff Sergeant serving as a meteorologist in South Korea. Gene served proudly and was always encouraging and respectful to every veteran that he met.

For several years, Gene worked for Charles Sammons, Founder of the Reserve Life Insurance Company in Dallas, TX. Gene helped the Reserve Life Insurance Co. set up and implement the first main frame computer to transition their billing system from paper punch cards to reel-to-reel data of all the policies for every customer. At one time, Gene had 100 people working under him to accomplish this momentous task. His last job was as a self-employed Systems and Management Consultant in his own company, REC and Associates, in Oklahoma City, OK. Gene was valued and celebrated as hard-working and highly regarded for his integrity in his community upon his retirement.

Gene loved the University of Oklahoma Sooners football team and enjoyed collecting Boomer Sooner memorabilia. Gene's hobbies also included collecting watches, clocks, and eyeglasses. He was best known as a sharp dresser, and for his uncanny sense of humor. Gene always presented himself in the most professional manner.

Gene is preceded in death by his mother and father; brothers, James Edwin Carpenter and Richard Donald Carpenter; and first wife, Geraldine Wolf. He is survived by his current wife, Julia Lane Lesseg Carpenter. He is also survived by sister-in-law, Jean Carpenter, and several nieces and nephews.

Gene was an extrovert and loved people and will leave a great empty space. He will be missed and forever cherished by his wife and friends until that glorious day of reunion in Heaven.
