Obituary

Robert "Bob" Frank DeGuilio, 59, beloved husband, brother, dad and G-Pa, passed away suddenly on August 27, 2010, surrounded by family and friends. Bob was born October 19, 1950, to Max and Celeste DeGuilio in Chicago Heights, Illinois. He graduated from Bloom High School in 1968, and then went on to Eastern Illinois University, receiving his bachelor's degree in 1972. Bob left Chicago Heights for St. Paul, Minnesota, in the mid-70's where he met Rose Gerten in 1977. They were married July 20, 1985, and Bob welcomed Rose's young son Matthew as his own. The family moved to California in 1985 where their daughter Lindsay was born. In September of 1991, the DeGuilios moved to Oklahoma City, where Bob lived the remainder of his life. For 17 years Bob managed a plant facility for Metal Container Corporation, a subsidiary of Anheuser-Busch, making it the most profitable lid facility in the United States. Bob would do anything for his family and friends and had the utmost respect and admiration from his employees. He truly was an original south side Chicago Italian, known as a tough, nit-picky, no-nonsense guy, but with enough passion and heart that let him get away with it! Having just retired in October of 2008, Bob was enjoying playing golf with his friends, visiting his home on Grand Lake with family, and playing with his new grandson, Noah.

Bob is survived by his wife of 25 years, Rose; his son Matthew and wife Allison of Kansas City, Missouri; his daughter Lindsay; grandson, Noah; his brother Marion and wife Irene, and their children Lisa and David of Lemont, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Public viewing and wake will be held from 4-8pm, Wednesday September 1st at Vondel L. Smith and Son, 13125 North MacArthur, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73142.

Funeral will follow on Thursday, September 2nd at 11am, at Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church.
