Obituary

Robert "Robbie" Allen Ervin, 46, of Oklahoma City, passed away peacefully at home in Ski Island on July 8, 2025, surrounded by love and overlooking the water he cherished.

Born on July 6, 1979, in Oklahoma City and raised in Mustang, Robbie built a life centered around joy, loyalty, and generosity. Whether you were family, friend, or someone lucky enough to cross his path, Robbie had a way of making you feel like you mattered. He never met a stranger, never turned down a chance to help, and never missed an opportunity to feed the people he loved. That might mean grilling on the deck, packing his boat full of friends, or handing out candy to the kids from his famously candy stocked pantry door.

Robbie was the "go to guy" in both life and work. As a Lead Land Services Representative with NextEra Energy, he was well respected across the industry and known for his ability to cut through the noise and get things done. He brought the same loyalty and reliability to his work that he did to his friendships, often being called on for guidance in complex situations.

Standing 6'6" with a personality just as bold, Robbie was truly one of a kind. His size mirrored his heart, enormous, warm, and always open. He had a quick wit and a sharp sense of humor, known for cracking one-liners and finding the comedy in everyday life. If you needed something, whether it was a hard to find product, the best reviewed item on the internet, or just someone to show up, Robbie was your guy. No one could find a better deal, and no one gave more of themselves.

He was a host, a traveler, a caretaker, and a kid at heart. Robbie especially loved his getaways to sunny Mexico, quick trips to Universal Studios and Disney World , and of course his time on the water at Lake Texoma. His love for life, laughter, and adventure was on full display in those places. Holidays, birthdays, and impromptu cook outs often happened under his roof, and no one left hungry.

He is survived by his mother Betty; his sister Lindsey and brother-in-law Josh; his uncle and namesake Robert; his mentor and Uncle Ben; his aunts Shirley, Rita, and Savina; and many cousins and extended family who adored him. He was preceded in death by his Grandma Nellie; Aunt Paula; and uncles Gary, Buddy, Darrell, Mike, and Manuel.

He also leaves behind a chosen family of lifelong friends and countless people whose lives were made better by his presence.

Robbie's life was a masterclass in how to love people well. He gave freely, laughed loudly, and made every space brighter just by being in it. He did more than take care of others, he lifted them up, made them laugh, and reminded them to enjoy the ride. His heart was as big as his frame, and his legacy will live on in every meal shared, every lake day remembered, and every Robbie story shared.

He was one of a kind. And we will never stop missing him.
