Robert Earl Leslie, Jr., fondly known as "Bob" by his family and friends, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at the age of 91. He was born on July 31, 1929 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Robert Earl Leslie, Sr. and Mary Gertrude (Hall) Leslie. Bob remained a lifelong resident of Oklahoma City. Bob graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1947, where he enjoyed playing football and other activities. He served in the US Army from 1950-1952 and was stationed in Indiana, Fort Benning, Georgia and Germany during the Korean Conflict. He graduated from Oklahoma City University in 1960 with his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business. He was employed at GMC Truck Company, Auxier-Scott Supply Company, for 23 years and retired from the Butterly Company in 1995 after 14 years of service. Bob was the ultimate sports fan, especially for his kids and grandkids as well as their musical talents. He enjoyed traveling, often with the grandkids along to visit historical sites. He was a big history buff. He and Shirley traveled the USA, Canada and Europe. They made several visits to Hawaii, one of their favorite places. Daily donuts and coffees shared with his friends at Gerald's Donut was a favorite. He attended all of his school reunions and stayed in touch with his friends throughout the years. Another favorite thing was coaching the boy's baseball and girls softball teams for many seasons. He was very proud of his kids and grandkids athletic achievements and awards as well as their academic pursuits and musical talents. He loved watching sports in his Lazyboy chair and was an avid reader. It wasn't unusual for him to watch two TVs and listen to a game on the radio at the same time. He was always available to chaperone or carpool and always encouraged schoolmates to come to the house. He enjoyed time with family and friends, always generous and helpful. He was a good neighbor, good Christian man and a proud Veteran. Bob was very loyal and always appreciative to two special families that were instrumental in his upbringing and success his Uncle Art and Aunt Lessie Leslie and Jessie and Gladys Munoz. Bob was a faithful and longtime member of Southern Hills Baptist Church. He will be deeply missed by all. Bob was preceded in death by his: Parents; Love of his life, his wife of 55 years, Shirley Lucille Leslie; Brother, Ronald Leslie.
