Bob Ludlam, 76 passed away on Monday February 28, 2022 following complications from surgery. Bob was born August 3, 1945 in Canton, OH to Robert Clyde Ludlam and Mildred Elizabeth (Smart) Ludlam. Bob lived all over the United States, and even spent time in Germany growing up. With a passion for flying, Bob started his pilot training in Altus, Oklahoma and quickly became a flight instructor. He graduated from Altus High School and attended the University of Oklahoma. Bob went on to join the US Air Force in 1967 as an active member of the Oklahoma Air National Guard, graduating at the top of his class and earning numerous honors for his flight skills. Bob flew 9 years as a member of The Guard, flying supplies back and forth to Vietnam to help the war efforts. Bob began flying for Country Superstar, Conway Twitty in the late 1960's. While on tour with Twitty, Bob met his sweetheart, Susan Jeanette Bledsoe. They were married in October 1970. Together they had two boys, Robert Keith Ludlam and Jeffery Scott Ludlam. Bob and Susan settled in Bethalto, IL to raise their kids. After his time with Twitty, Bob became a broker of private jets and founded Bob Ludlam Aircraft Sales. In 2011, Bob and Susan moved their business to Sarasota, Florida. They maintained a home in Bethalto giving them an opportunity to attend St. Louis Cardinals baseball games.
Bob is survived by: wife of 51 years Susan Jeanette Ludlam; son Robert Keith Ludlam, wife Amy and their children Chayse and Ryder of Wellington, FL, son Jeffery Scott Ludlam, wife Lisa and their children Tony, Paige and Jake Ludlam of Edmond, OK.
A chapel service and interment will be held Monday, March 7, 2022 10:00AM at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery in Oklahoma City.
