A memorial service will be held to celebrate and honor his life at 3:00 PM Saturday, June 14, 2025 at the South Colonial Chapel of Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary, 6934 S Western Ave OKC, OK 73139.
Robert Soliz, fondly known as "Ro, Grandpapa, or Thunder", went to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, June 8, 2025 at the age of 64. The son of Hortencia Ramones Valverde and Rafael Solis, Robert was the baby of a large family on May 30, 1961 in Clinton, Oklahoma. Robert grew up attending Mangum schools in Mangum, Oklahoma. In 1980, Robert graduated from Mangum High School, where he was active in football and track. Robert met a beautiful young lady by the name of Ramona Elaine Diamond while attending a dance at M&Bs held at Quartz Mountain Lake and the two became inseparable. They were united in marriage in 1982 in Altus, Oklahoma and together shared more than 43 years of marriage together. This union of marriage was blessed with two children, a son, Corey and daughter, Amber. In addition to being a loving husband, devoted father and dedicated provider for his home and family. Robert worked as a siding and window salesman for ABC Supply Company for the past 16 years, but he began his siding career in 1982 at Forest Siding. In his spare time, Robert enjoyed the outdoors and all the adventures and all it could offer. Among his many hobbies and activities Robert enjoyed going hunting and fishing, playing golf with his buddies, and above all riding his Indian motorcycle all around. He was a longtime active member of the Guard Dogs Motorcycle Club and made many lifetime friends through the club and their many outings and riding trips. Being there to meet the needs of his family was of the upmost importance to Robert. They were the center of his world and he enjoyed spending time with his family, taking them hunting, fishing and traveling. Being a Dad who was involved, present and supportive of his children and grandchildren's endeavors was a main priority in Robert's life. Robert was very passionate about the Dallas Cowboys, watching golf, and of course, dad jokes, but nothing was as important as being with his family whom he loved with all of his heart. Robert was known for his honesty and his positivity and will be fondly remembered as a kind, loving, hardworking, forgiving, and generous man. He loved and cared deeply for his family and he will be held close to our hearts each day.
