Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away peacefully with his family by his side November 4, 2012. Roland was born January 8, 1936, in Lowell, Massachusetts to Lucien A. and Yvette A. He married Terry, the love of his life, and gained his daughter, Lisa Wilkey, in 1985. He and Terry also raised their grandson, James Kyle Wells, who they consider a son; Roland was proud of them both. Roland loved his God, country, and family, his adopted state of Oklahoma, the Oklahoma Sooners, and Thunder basketball. In 1979 Roland completed requirements for an Associate's Degree in Business Administration from Rose State College, Midwest City, Oklahoma. At the pinnacle of his Air Force career he was assigned as the Implementation Program, Manager for the $1.3 billion Combat Information Transport System Program. On a daily problem-solving basis, he provided his organization's Project Managers Program direction, technical architecture, contracting and funding related information, guidance and direction as they implemented a multitude of comprehensive multi-million dollar data network upgrades at worldwide military bases. He worked at the 38th Engineering Installation Group, Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, when he retired as a civilian in December 2005. Throughout his federal career which spanned a total of 50 plus years he received numerous outstanding achievement awards for his loyal and dedicated service to his country to include a commendation from the Chief of Staff of the Air Force, the Secretary of the Air Force, and a letter from President George W.
