Ronald "Ronnie" Dean

Ronald Dean Kay, 81 years old, passed away on March 23, 2026, in Edmond, OK. Ronald was born on February 9, 1945, in Wynnewood, OK to Teddy Eugene & Muriel (Hudson) Kay; the second oldest of 5 boys. He grew up in Oklahoma & Texas most of his childhood, then in 1963, he graduated from Sayre High School in Sayre, OK. After graduating he joined the US Marine Corps in July 1963, serving until June 1967, as a Sargeant & crash site photographer for the Marines. After returning home, he worked with his dad in the insurance field. In July 1967 he met the love of his life Jean Marie Macumber dragging Main and 4th St, in Sarye. On August 23, 1 969, Ron & Jean were married and would have been married for 57 years this August. They moved to Stillwater in August 1969 for him to attend OSU for Animal Science. In 1971 they moved to Oklahoma City; he then went to work for True Color photography. On March 9, 1976, Ron & Jean were blessed with one daughter, Brandi Lee. In 1979, Ron transferred to Dallas, TX with True Color Photography, where they lived until July 1988. They moved back to Moore, OK where Ron went to work for York International-Johnson Controls. He retired in 2016 after 25 years. Ron enjoyed raising his horses, watching old western shows, spending time with family, going on family vacations and watching his granddaughters grow up.
Ronald is survived by his wife Jean, of the home; daughter Brandi Lee Fisher of Yukon, OK; Granddaughters, Sheyenne Kaylee Spence of Edmond, OK and Kylee Dakotta Fisher of Yukon, OK. He is also survived by Brothers, Lonnie Ray Kay and wife Kathy of Yukon, OK and Coy Lee Kay and wife Leora of Rosston, OK; many nephews, nieces & friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Teddy Eugene & Muriel Kay; brothers, Donald Gene Kay and Dennie Joe Kay; his grandparents & great grandparents.
The family will be available to greet friends during visitation on Friday evening from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Vondel L. Smith South Lakes Funeral Home.
Services to celebrate Ronnie's life will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, March 28, 2026, at the Vondel L. Smith South Lakes Chapel with military honors and Interment to follow in Heritage Burial Park.
